PARTICIPANTS

The REMix  consortium is composed of six entities that are involved in the fields of innovation in education and work on migration and cultural rights – each bringing with them a certain expertise and considerable knowledge: University of Akureyri (Iceland), University of  Slovenia), University of Florence (Italy), Aristotle University of Thelassoniki (Greece), University of Madeira (Portugal) and the network  ARMES Progetti (Italy) plus some associate partners.

The University of Akureyri (Háskólinn á Akureyri) is located in North Iceland and has served Akureyri and its rural surroundings since 1987. The University has built a reputation for academic excellence and good industrial relations. Located in the capital of North Iceland, Akureyri, the University has been instrumental in the economic growth of the region and is central in its planning for a future as a knowledge-based society. 

The Aristotelio University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece, comprising 10 Faculties, with 41 Departments, 61 fully equipped clinics and 295 research laboratories. Currently, the university offers 41

undergraduate and 92 postgraduate courses. The School of Psychology holds 24 staff and provides teaching that covers

a wide range of areas of psychology.

The School of Psychology has extensive experience in the training of applied psychologists at postgraduate level, including clinical psychologists (in both clinical and other community settings), school and educational psychologists and clinical neuropsychologists. Also has facilities and infrastructure, including

a newly formed Laboratory of Applied Psychology, as well as extensive experience in conducting research in a diversity of institutional settings including clinical, educational and community contexts. Several projects have been carried out with a variety and groups of participants in different settings, such as special schools, health services, mental health and other community-based services, self-help groups and charities.

Armes Progetti is a non-profit association founded in 2007 in Milan, Italy with the aim to promote cultural sustainability and provide advice to professionals in the field of research and services. ARMES is a network of talented professionals and young independent researchers that work in the sector of cultural rights and cultural planning to ensure that European values are embraced in the context of migration and integration. fields. ARMES’ aim is to   integrates cultural rights’ recognition and  local development while  supports the creation of a non- discrimination and social inclusive society in cooperation with Universities, Research Institutes, Local Authorities and the Business Sector.

The Science and Research Centre Koper (ZRS Koper) works on an interdisciplinary basis, involving humanities, social and natural sciences, with special emphasis given to the research in the specific environments of the Mediterranean and the upper Adriatic region. 

The main activities are: 

  • basic and applied research, 

  • production of professional expertise and counseling, 

  • education, 

  • organization of scientific meetings, 

  • publishing and editorial activities, 

  • librarianship. 

ZRS Koper is actively integrating in international scientific cooperation and is connecting with many similar organizations worldwide. 

Researchers are also actively involved in academic process at all three Slovene public universities, thus ensuring the transfer of research results into the educational sphere. 

The University of Florence is a public entity and a centre for research and higher education in Italy, with 1,800 lecturers and internal research staff, 1,600 technical and administrative staff, and over 1,600 research assistants and doctoral students. It offers a wide range of study programs at various levels and in all areas of knowledge, 126 Degree courses organized in 10 Schools and Department, with a population of about 51,000 enrolled students, one-fourth of which come from outside of Tuscany.

The University of Madeira (UMa) is the youngest Portuguese Public University. In 2016, it celebrated the 29th anniversary of its foundation. The University is located in the city of Funchal and is physically composed of the Rectory, the Penteada University Campus, the University Residence and the São Roque University Campus.

It offers a wide range of quality 1st, 2nd and 3rd Cycles of studies, Professional Masters, Post-graduate studies and Professional Masters structured around the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Exact Sciences and Engineering; Social Sciences; Life Sciences and Health Technologies and eighteen consolidated fields of knowledge.

It is an innovative institution which is strongly committed to the use of cutting-edge technology, quality of faculty and of services provided as well as the development of projects with other bodies and enterprises, both national and international, to achieve excellence.
